An Allstate Insurance report indicates that Chicago is one of the easiest places in the country to get into a car accident.
Chicago ranked 167th in safety, out of nearly 200 U.S. cities. This is a slight improvement from last year’s ranking of 170. According to Allstate, the average Chicago driver will have an automobile accident every 7.6 years.
Cities beating out Chicago in safety include Atlanta, Houston and New York. However, Chicago scored better than Los Angeles and Dallas. The worst ranked city was Washington, D.C. with an average of a crash every 5.1 years. The best ranked city was Fort Collins, Colorado, with an average of a crash every 14.5 years.
