In New Jersey, a number of bus passengers were injured when the bus rear-ended a garbage truck which was stopped in traffic. Authorities report that the bus was traveling at a high rate of speed and there were no skid marks on the pavement.
Seven passengers were hospitalzied, inclusing one who suffered a head injury.
It is important to remember that with bus accidents, the bus operator is considered a common carrier as to the passengers. This means that the operator owes the highest standard of care to the passengers to avoid an accident. In other words, all posible measures must be take to avoid accidental injury to the passengers.
