Pit bull attacks student at school

Comments Off

A Wisconsin student was injured, but fortunately not seriously, when he was bitten by a pit bull during gym class at school. The dog had latched onto the child’s arm, prompting a police officer assigned to the school to shoot and kill the dog.

County officials stated that when a pit bull bites and latches on, the pit bull is an attack mode.

This news story demonstrates one of the traits about pit bulls that make them so much more dangerous than other breeds. They are very powerful animals and have a tendency to bite into their victim and then not release, shaking and tearing at the victim and causing ever more serious injuries. Once they latch onto the victim, it is very difficult to get them to release the victim. Frequently, you hear of rescuers having to kill the animal to force it to release the victims.
