Pedestrian struck by hit and run driver

Comments Off

A Nebraska man was seriously injured when he was struck by a car which fled the scene.

He sustained two broken legs. He also sustained a broken arm and suffered head injuries.

In Illinois, a hit-and-run driver is considered an uninsured driver. When someone is injured in a hit-and-run accident, the injured party can make a claim for compensation against his own insurance policy under the uninsured motorist provisions. This is true even where, as here, the injured party is a pedestrian.
